Your mellifluous tone, honey drips from your tongue,
Like silk, promises slip from your mouth
Your affection ephemeral, ended before its begun
Polar opposites, my north to your south
Joy lost from love with such brevity
Sweetened words with no heart or hope
With realisation comes clarity
And a new inner strength to live and to cope

Lost
Your hand lays upon my face
A memory so hard to replace
The forgotten promise of feather touch
When you promised me so much
Affection fades from gold to grey
Your whispers in my ear stay
Ghost of your caress lingers
Upon my lips and fingers
A vast abyss of absent love
Torn from the present, sent above
A memory so hard to replace
The forgotten promise of feather touch
When you promised me so much
Affection fades from gold to grey
Your whispers in my ear stay
Ghost of your caress lingers
Upon my lips and fingers
A vast abyss of absent love
Torn from the present, sent above

Smile
If life was but a simple thing
Think what joy a smile would bring
A child's laugh would end all war
A little grin would pay the poor
A silly giggle would heal the weak
A joke could help the mute to speak
You know what the old sayings say
A laugh a day keeps doc away
So next time when you're feeling down
Don't just mope, scowl and frown
Stretch your lips and try to grin
Trust me, laughing's not a sin!
Think what joy a smile would bring
A child's laugh would end all war
A little grin would pay the poor
A silly giggle would heal the weak
A joke could help the mute to speak
You know what the old sayings say
A laugh a day keeps doc away
So next time when you're feeling down
Don't just mope, scowl and frown
Stretch your lips and try to grin
Trust me, laughing's not a sin!
Sunrise
and figures sleep across the land
The moon pulls white horses across the sand
and lays their soul to rest
When silver rays make light
and shadowsflicker out of sight
Light and dark battle the eternal flight
to win the prize of dawn
When red stains all the sky
and morning birds awake and fly
the conqueror moves across the sky
The victor, rose the sun
The moon pulls white horses across the sand
and lays their soul to rest
When silver rays make light
and shadowsflicker out of sight
Light and dark battle the eternal flight
to win the prize of dawn
When red stains all the sky
and morning birds awake and fly
the conqueror moves across the sky
The victor, rose the sun
If I could fly
What would happen if we could fly?
Would we live up in the sky?
Would we live like birds in trees?
Or would we build our homes like bees?
I wonder if our arms would ache?
Maybe they would even break!
I wonder what we'd choose to eat?
I doubt we'd ever use our feet!
Would we all like it in the air?
I bet the birds would stop and stare!
Would we ever use the land?
We might forget just how to stand!
Would we grow beaks and tails and stuff?
Instead of clothes, have feathery fluff?
Would the clouds have chocolate shops?
We'd fly amonst the rainbow drops
But when it comes to time for bed
Would we use clouds to rest our heads?
Wrap a rainbow round us tight
I think I'd like the gift of flight!

London
Rainy days and misty haze
London streets, grey and cold
Balmy summers and twinkling lights
London streets bask in summer heat
Yellow and green, golden hues
London streets autumnal shades
Crisp and cold, fresh and clean
London streets in winter whites
So much to see, hidden gems
Older than most know
London streets, how much have you seen?
London streets, grey and cold
Balmy summers and twinkling lights
London streets bask in summer heat
Yellow and green, golden hues
London streets autumnal shades
Crisp and cold, fresh and clean
London streets in winter whites
So much to see, hidden gems
Older than most know
London streets, how much have you seen?
Fate is cruel in so many ways
Fate is cruel in so many ways
Leaves you cold counting the days
And inside you may be broken
Although comforting words are spoken
No one can stop what's impending
Make it ok, change the ending
On the outside you keep face
Say you need time, need some space
Inside you're disillusioned and stunned
Not expecting what is to come
And it makes you realise you're so alone
And need that someone like you've never known
A friend isn't the same as a soul mate
And you realise cruel twist of fate
That you're going to have to be strong
And only fate knows for how long
And you've cried til there's nothing left
And of emotions you're bereft
You shut out all the hurt and pain
Hold your head up and start again
To be strong for those who need you
Even though you need someone too
Leaves you cold counting the days
And inside you may be broken
Although comforting words are spoken
No one can stop what's impending
Make it ok, change the ending
On the outside you keep face
Say you need time, need some space
Inside you're disillusioned and stunned
Not expecting what is to come
And it makes you realise you're so alone
And need that someone like you've never known
A friend isn't the same as a soul mate
And you realise cruel twist of fate
That you're going to have to be strong
And only fate knows for how long
And you've cried til there's nothing left
And of emotions you're bereft
You shut out all the hurt and pain
Hold your head up and start again
To be strong for those who need you
Even though you need someone too
